 Community Announcements:

Volunteers Needed to Start Community Credit Union The Forest Hills Community House is trying to start a community credit union. The credit union project needs some people who are willing to commit around 5 hours a month. This would involve 2 organizing meetings, which are held on alternating Mondays at 7pm in the SAGE Queens space of the Bruson Building. In addition to the organizing meetings, participants would need to do outreach presentations to community groups. As part of the ground work needed to open up a branch of a credit union, we need to find approximately 1000 potential members. As a result, we are looking for people who are willing to connect with different organizations and to explain what a credit union is and why it would be advantageous for many people in this community. Anyone who is interested in participating in the organizing committee would get support and information in order to do this kind of presentation. If you’re interested contact Zoe at (718) 898-7461 ext. 28
